BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of an assigned Maintenance and Operations
Manager or assigned Supervisor, receive, prepare and distribute
materials, supplies, and equipment for the Maintenance Department to assure efficient operations; maintain related computerized inventory control records
and prepare related reports.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
The Warehouse Worker II classification is a single incumbent
classification and performs a variety of responsible inventory support and
distribution duties for the Maintenance Department. Incumbents in the Warehouse
Worker III classification serve in a lead capacity over an assigned warehouse
function and personnel. Incumbents in the Warehouse Worker I classification
perform a variety of warehouse and delivery duties.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
Receive, prepare and distribute incoming and outgoing
Maintenance Department materials, supplies, and equipment to various District
locations; prepare and maintain routine records related to assigned activities.
Receive warehouse stock orders, pull, wrap and load delivery
trucks; load and unload delivery vehicles; store materials, supplies and
equipment in a neat, orderly and efficient manner. E
Monitor and update computerized inventory control records as
needed; perform periodic warehouse inventory activities; plan storage locations
and utilize space efficiently. E
Unlock and open the Education Center; assist in the daily
operations of the Center as needed. E
Inspect shipments against packing slips and purchase orders;
report damage, shortage or discrepancies. E
Greet visitors and District personnel at the counter; receive
and issue materials, supplies and equipment; coordinate maintenance materials
for special projects. E
Communicate with school and District personnel regarding the
pickup and delivery of orders; communicate with outside vendors regarding
pricing and status of orders. E
Pick up and authorize supplies from the main District
warehouse. E
Maintain warehouse in a clean and orderly condition; maintain
cleanliness of Maintenance Department equipment. E

Operate a District vehicle and a variety of warehouse
equipment
including forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies and postage meters. E
Assist Maintenance and Operations personnel in the completion
of general maintenance duties.
Supply and recharge fire extinguishers at District sites.
Perform related duties as assigned.

ABILITY TO:

storing and shipping supplies.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high
school and two years experience driving light trucks in delivery work or in a
warehouse environment.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid California driver's license.
