Sr Supervisor, Planning and Inventory Management

Sr Supervisor, Planning and Inventory Management:
--Manages the daily operations of the Genentech Oceanside Scheduling
department, including:
--Central scheduling for Oceanside manufacturing operations
including start up, studies, validation, production, calibration,
preventative maintenance and other activities that utilize
capacity within the manufacturing plant.
--Knowledge, use, maintenance, and updates of the advanced
scheduling (AS) tool, InFor.
--Knowledge and modeling of the manufacturing process (i.e.
dependencies, timing) to ensure accuracy of the AS tool.
--Coordination of activities with all site departments that
depend on the schedule for management of workload.
--Supply chain knowledge around ERP Plan and Make processes.
--Resolution of conflicts within the schedule.
--Appropriate prioritizations of activities to ensure
production targets are met.
--Troubleshooting to resolve scheduling conflicts or
prioritization of activities.

Personnel management:
--Performance and development.
--Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with
customers and suppliers across the organization.
--Administrative activities including budgeting, hiring and
improvement initiatives.
--Manage and execute the logistics of production scheduling
process orders from initiation to closure as well as fit non-
production activities into the production area capacity.
--High degree of customer service, flexibility, and the ability
to work under a continually changing environment.

Essential Functions:

--Supervision of direct reports, typically at assistant
levels.
--Will be responsible for performance management and staff
development.
--Will supervise individuals on a 4 x 10 hour shift covering 7
days per week on a day and swing shift.
--Provide leadership to the scheduling department to drive
continual improvement, GMP compliant operations and a safe working
environment driven to produce unparalleled results.
--Drive operational execution to support production schedules.
--Ensures that GMP training is completed and maintained for all
employees within the area.
--Ensures that safety training is completed as required.
--Embraces accountability and becomes the single point of contact for all Materials Management areas.
--Will be engaged in tactical discussions involving the
Production logistics dept. and will be expected to provide support to
the team.
--Develope and implement initiatives to improve production schedules as well as to minimize the impact of Materials Management to the schedule.
--Ensure that regular communication is provided to employees
within the department through individual, group and team meetings.
--Develops a cohesive team environment initially at the
department level and then gradually working outward towards customer
and supplier functions.
--Surrounds themselves with first rate people through making
excellent hiring choices and developing staff.
--Ensures that existing staff have established development
plans for their staff. Helps in identifying areas for staff
development ensuring departmental growth and cross training.
