Space Inventory Database

The Space Inventory database contains information about buildings that are occupied for teaching or research purposes. This information includes:

  • Details of departmental occupation type and use of individual rooms
  • Room size
  • Identification of any hazardous material within the room
  • Current replacement value of building

The Space Inventory has links to the Planning & Design Unit's Graphical Design System (GDS) which can produce visual displays of the information in the database.

The Space Inventory database is also used by other University systems such as the Asset Register and the Job Control System (Maximo), Venues Booking System and Central Timetabling.

Each University building has a unique Building Number. The numbers are used by many individuals in connection with their work.

For further information on the Space Inventory Database contact the Space Management Executive Officer, xtn 3848.
