ORLANDO, FL : April 8, 2002桝lbany Molecular Research, Inc. (Nasdaq: AMRI)
announced the signing of an agreement with CambridgeSoft to adopt
CambridgeSoft's ChemOffice WebServer technology and applications for AMRI's
growing chemical information management needs.
AMRI is a growing company
with research sites at several locations in the United States. It needed a
unified chemical registration system that would allow scientists and managers to
know which chemicals and reagents were present at which sites. AMRI also needed
a chemical inventory system to track the use and disposal of chemicals at its
various sites. Chemical inventory systems help avoid unnecessary purchases,
facilitate more efficient use of reagents, and minimize waste stream problems.
After consultations with CambridgeSoft and evaluation of prototype
installations, AMRI decided to use CambridgeSoft's ChemOffice WebServer.
Chemical Registration
& Inventory
CambridgeSoft will install and customize
chemical registration and inventory applications, running on the ChemOffice
WebServer. The parties anticipate the installation of these systems at all of
AMRI's laboratory sites and the training of approximately 400 AMRI scientists
and employees for the use of this enterprise software, even though financial
terms of the agreement have not yet been disclosed.
"We selected
CambridgeSoft because its system provided us with the ability to customize
software to address our unique security and confidentiality requirements," says
Harold Meckler, Ph.D., Vice President of Science and Technology at AMRI.
