Receiver/Inventory Control Clerk/Concessions Supervisor

Primary Purpose

Ensures an orderly flow of supplies for the Grille, Juice Bar, Midd Express, Rehearsals and Golf Course Snack Bar, so that all items are on hand when needed.   Keeps and maintains an orderly and clean storeroom, coolers and freezers.   Ensures smooth operation of College Concession venues.

Responsibilities

Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from supervisors.

*Receives (and may order)all deliveries of food, paper and other supply items, ensuring that products are received in their proper condition with respect to temperature and quality of goods.

*Inspects orders and double checks all products to be on invoice.

*Ensures cold foods stay cold, frozen foods stay frozen, and that delivered items are handled correctly.

*Inventories, stocks and rotates supplies in appropriate areas to maintain freshness.

*Maintains organization in inventory areas, including freezer, to make best use of available storage space.

*Communicates with Grille, Crest Room and Convenience Store supervisors on details of inventories.

Lifts heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) safely using proper lifting techniques.

*Delivers inventory to proper area.

*Manages food concessions including supply orders and inventory maintenance.

*Oversees concessions staffing including coordination of volunteer groups, training and supervision.

*Handles cash control of concessions for up to $5,000 per event.

*Oversees facility and equipment maintenance and cleanliness as well as food quality and safety controls at concessions.

*Handles event coordination with General Manager of Retail Operations/McCullough and the Athletics Department.

Cleans work area after shift (including sweeping and mopping) and maintains an orderly stockroom.

Works in food preparation area.

Works weekend events as necessary (Alumni, Commencement and Reunion).

Education & Training

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

1 year of previous food preparation experience required.   6-12 months of previous experience in stock area preferred.   Experience driving delivery truck preferred.

Knowledge

Knowledge of safe food handling, lifting techniques and receiving procedures.   General knowledge of safety/sanitary aspects of food service areas.
