| At the beginning and end of every year a team of student Resident Assistants
(RAs) go through nearly 1500 rooms on campus to record room condition and
inventory. At the end of the year, the check-in room condition inventory (RCI)
forms are manually compared to the check-out RCI forms to account for any room
damages. Because the process is entirely manual, it is extremely time consuming
and error-prone. To address these problems, we developed mobile software called
RCI-EZ (Room Condition Inventory made Easy) to provide an easy way to collect
data about residence hall room status, room inventory and maintenance requests.
