Resource Information: Comptel Incatel/NIMS is a convergent network inventory
solution that is designed to record the whole range of equipment, media,
protocols, logical connectivity and capacity of fixed, broadband, IP and mobile
networks. Uniquely, it can handle both physical and logical resources in one
fully integrated solution to provide a complete view of the network.
Logical Resources: Comptel Incatel/NIMS provides a powerful
modelling of the logical network hierarchy. It is designed to handle any network
technologies including PSTN, xDSL, DWDM, microwave links, ATM, SDH/SONET, IP,
and many more.
Inside Plant Physical Resources: Comptel
Incatel/NIMS offers inside plant inventory for multi-vendor equipment such as
CPEs, switches, routers, multiplexers, DDFs/ODFs, base-stations and MSCs.
Details recorded include the connectivity, capacity (e.g. free ports),
time-slots, antenna attributes, and equipment locations (floor plans, shelf,
frame, rack, row, room, site, etc.).
Outside Plant Physical
Resources: Comptel Incatel/NIMS supports the full inventory of the
underground and aerial outside plant physical resources of the network,
including ducts, pipes, cables, splices, distribution boxes, masts and radio
links. The Outside Plant module also includes an integrated Geographical
Information System (GIS), which allows resources to be positioned on
maps.
Supports Key Business Processes: Comptel Incatel/NIMS
provides sophisticated planning and routing functionality that can be used to
optimise network roll-out, service fulfilment and network assurance, resulting
