ScholAR offers a new database that allows easy recordkeeping of all chemicals in
a building. The software requires no special license, and it allows
recordkeeping for all areas in a school. This tool provides easy searching of
chemicals in stock, a way to print inventory lists for emergency response
personnel, and links to MSDS's on the Internet. The ScholAR CID provides for
multiple cabinets in each room. Each room has an "owner", or person responsible
for that inventory. There is no limit to the number of rooms or cabinets that
can be used. Data for each chemical includes chemical name, formula, source,
bottle size, amount in storage, and hazard coding. Users can search the database
for a specific chemical or part of a chemical name, to allow for multiple names
or spellings of a given chemical. CID comes pre-loaded with the complete ScholAR
chemical line and is ready to use. Data from Excel spreadsheets can be easily
loaded into CID, making initial data loading easy. CID is provided on CD on a
site-license basis. Only one copy is need per building. CID requires Windows 95
or above operating system, 64 Mb memory and 5 Mb free disk space. To access
MSDS's, an Internet connection is required.
